my name is Anthony Louis-Jeune, my artist name is Thony Loui. I'm a Daltonian visual artist. I was mentored by the great Haitian painter Ralph Allen and by the legendary American cartoonist Rich Buckler, famous for his work with Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Rick Buckler helped me develop my first super-hero Djatawo ( www.djatawo.com ), for a special program at New York University to promote Creole language learning. Due to my "handicap", color blindness, I'm always sensitive to people who have difficulty expressing themselves or integrating into society. In November 2019, I was an artist in residence at Purchase College, in New York, to present my work and introduce the Haitian heroine Tanama, https://tanamaproject.org, which I created, to a panel including representatives of the Timberland brand and La SFA (Small Farmers Alliance). I was selected to represent Haiti at the fifth edition of the Ibero-American Design Bienal in Madrid, Spain, and I'm also part of a segment in Conan O Brien's TV show, Conan Beyond Borders, which is on Netflix and YouTube: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XTFmXEDZPWQ Which was filmed in Haiti. I was recently commissioned by the mayor of Atlanta to paint her portrait.
