Tourism Technology and Tourism Marketing
After having obtained a BSc in Hospitality/Travel & Tourism Mngt at FIU, I returned to my place of birth in 1998, to contribute to nation-building/giving back to my country. I joined TIDCO in 1999, where I held positions in Tourism Information, Tourism Technology, and Tourism Marketing, heading-up int'l mktg initiatives for 5 of the country’s Tourism niches. 4 years later in 2003, I moved on to take up a senior post at McCann Erickson, where I held the position of Group Account Director, leading multiple corporate and FMCG brands. In 2012, I was called to serve on the BoD of TDC, where I was appointed Chair of the Mktg Comm of the Board. In 2013, I was re-appointed to the Board, and retained that post until October, 2015. My passion for Tourism, based on my past studies and throughout my career to-date, has been unwavering. In 2014, I commenced a Masters programme online with the University of Florida, majoring in Mass Communications with a specialization in Social Media. I graduated with distinction in 2017. In 2018, I returned “home” to a full-time post at Tourism Trinidad, now leading the destination’s marketing efforts to position Trinidad globally as the Business/Sport/Events Tourism capital of the region.
