Culture Specialist, Creative Producer and Artist
"My name is Nadya Shah and I am a Culture Specialist, Creative Producer and Artist who has been involved in various endeavours ranging from public sector consultations, program implementation and management, visual arts, exhibition planning and curation, art direction for film, costume design and set/stage/ scenic design. I’m am a graduate of King's College London and the University of the West Indies with a Master's in Creative & Cultural Industries (KCL), a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts & Cultural Enterprise Management and a B.A in Visual Arts with a minor in Cultural Studies (UWI). My main focus is the development of the creative sector and I have a strong desire to contribute both from the perspective of a creative practitioner and in an administrative and managerial capacity. Some of my past experiences include work with the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, the National Museum and Art Gallery, Decibel Entertainment Festival, New Fire Festival, the Lost Tribe carnival band, various film productions, NGOs and other private entities within the creative sector. I am currently based at the Culture Division, Ministry of Tourism, Culture & the Arts managing the Artist Registry while being involved in various external creative activities and productions.
